Art for Railings walls

Railings (Farrow & Ball No. 31) is a soft black with a blue undertone. Here is what we would aim for on a wall painted in it, and pieces we made for rooms with walls like it.

Matching or standing out

On a wall this deep we lean towards lighter pieces and colours from the other side of the colour wheel, with one or two that stay close to the wall.

Colours that match Railings

Soft cool grey

Colours that stand out on Railings

Ochre
Warm sand
Soft blush
Pale sage

Natural wood or a white mount lifts a print off a dark wall; a black frame tends to disappear into it.
