Privacy policy

Who we are

Quiet Wall is run by Teze Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17137231), based in Brighton and Hove. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

What we collect

• Room photos you upload, and the wall previews we make from them
• Email address if you choose to give it
• Messages you send us through the feedback form: your message, your email, the page you were on, your browser and device, and a screenshot only if you attach one
• Shipping details when you place an order
• Payment details, handled by Stripe, never stored by us

What happens to your photo

• Anthropic's Claude reads it to understand your room's style, light and where art would hang. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API inputs are not used to train its models.
• We measure its colours on our own servers.
• Your photo is never sent to the image generator. Only a written description (for example "soft sage green and warm off-white") is.
• We place each new artwork on your wall to make a preview. Previews are private and only reachable through time-limited links.
• Your photo and its previews are deleted automatically 30 days after you upload.
• We never use your photo for marketing.

If a face is clearly visible, we ask you to crop or retake the photo.

The artworks we make never contain your photo. We keep them, and may show them as examples of our work.

Who we share data with

Only the service providers we need to run Quiet Wall, each under its own data protection terms:

• Anthropic: reading your room photo and checking artwork
• Replicate: generating artwork from text descriptions
• Supabase: storing photos, artwork and orders
• Vercel: hosting the website
• Stripe: taking payment
• Prodigi: printing, framing and delivering your order (artwork file and shipping address)
• Resend: sending order emails

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

The community wall

Nothing goes on the community wall unless you add it yourself, piece by piece, from your results. When you do, we show that artwork and the wall colour we measured in your photo. We never show your photo, your name, your email or where you live. You can take a piece off from the same results page at any time, and it disappears from the wall straight away.

To count likes, your browser makes itself a random ID and keeps it, with the pieces it has liked, in its own storage. It is not a cookie, it is not linked to you, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

How long we keep it

• Room photos and wall previews: 30 days
• Order records: six years, as UK tax law requires
• Email address: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep your session working. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not identify you or follow you across other sites.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data, to stop using it, or to send it to you. Email us and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
